This book made me wonder if I read the same book that the 5 star reviewers didWhat dreckI am by no means sueamish I lurve the trashy erotic romance I do and the hotter the better Unfortunately Passion wasn't hot it was merely profane I have never read sex scenes that have left me uite so coldThe plot when we're treated to it is fairly tight and satisfying Valdez does create a sticky situation for the hero forcing him to choose between his beloved brother and the woman he's grown to love Passion and I'm sorry but that name is just straight up retarded ridiculous is also in a bind as Mark is engaged to her cousin who she's uite fond of Valdez certainly did put both her and heroine in a tough spot pitting them against family they lovedUnfortunately the sexxoring takes up 50 60% of the novel and it is DREADFUL It's laugh out loud ridiculous at times with gems like I think my cock is in love with you I'm sorry if a man said that to me I'd laugh in his face and tell him to put his pants back on The dialog was heavily anachronistic and profane to the point of absurdity I'm a friggin' working class hockey fan and I don't drop the F bomb half as much as these two do yet I'm supposed to believe this is how an earl and a gentlewoman spoke 150 years ago?Laughable dialog aside there was the overly clinical sex Valdez got her money's worth out of the word cervix seeing as how it appeared multiple times in every sex scene Sorry honey cervix is not a sexy word especially so when you're making a big deal about this guy's giant schlong banging against it That sounds painful I've never winced so much at sex; I was holding a bag of frozen peas to my cooter in sympathy painsThere was a total lack of sexual tension since they were banging non stop and the romance plot was so relegated to the background that the scant emotional conflict simply could not save this train wreck Really if you're going to write an erotic romance shouldn't the sex be erotic?

5 passionate scintillating erotic stars I absolutely loved this book though I don’t know if I can put into words all the reasons why and do this story justice because it’s than just a bookIt’s an exciting escape into sexual fantasy a touching love story and a happily ever after to rival the best of themDescription In her second year of mourning lovely young widow Passion Elizabeth Dare never dreamed she would be with a man again—and certainly not a complete stranger But amidst the crowds of London's Crystal Palace Passion finds herself discreetly yet insistently pursued by a sensual gentleman who awakens her long supressed desires After a loveless marriage of restrained propriety Passion abandons herself to true bliss for the first timeIntoxicated by his encounter with the beautiful stranger Mark Randolph Hawk Earl of Langley cannot wait to see her again As a series of rapturous rendezvous follows he and his mystery lover find something rare and wonderful blossoming between them But a blackmail scheme against the Earl threatens to destroy everything As a scandal brews each will have to choose between duty and desiretheir love for their families—and their love for each otherMy review contains minor spoilersFrom the beginning I was hooked The prologue alone grabbed my attention and had me thinking Hmmm there’s going to be trouble in paradise Then chapter one starts off with one of the most passionate sexual encounters I’ve ever read between two people who had never before met in a place where the odds are very good that they’ll get caught Talk about hot These few pages alone made this book worth buying Now let’s talk about the main characters themselves whom I adore Mark and Passion are total opposites but we know what they say about opposites attracting right? Mark is one of those heroes that I am instantly drawn to; the kind who has built a fortress around his heart not believing that true love can exist between a man and a woman and especially not for him Other than his father and his brother Matt Mark has never cared for anyone and doesn’t believe that anyone except for them has ever cared about him He is bored with society and cynical – trusting very few people It’s as if he is in the world but not truly part of it He functions going about his daily life and enjoying his work as a respected architect but the feeling I get is that he’s a man who stands back and watches while everyone else lives and he merely exists Passion is the eldest daughter of a “man of the cloth” and was named for Passion Sunday the day on which she was born She is a widow who is just about to come out of a long 2 year mourning Her marriage was not a good one and their sex life was dismal – well hers was Her husband seemed to enjoy himself rather freuently and with everyone but Passion She’s in no hurry to remarry which is part of the reason she stayed in mourning so much longer – according to her aunt – than was necessary Fortunately for them and us a most unfortunate turn of events bring Mark and Passion together in an exhibit hall at the Crystal Palace where they find themselves inexplicably drawn to one another Their curiosity desire and longing for something different sweeps them up in a torrent of passion where they share their bodies in an uninhibited almost primitive need for sexual fulfillment Their encounter leaves them both sated and yet hungry for but having parted without even exchanging names they may never again see one another After returning to their homes that day they are unable to forget their encounter and are left wondering what might happen next – if that passion could possibly be recaptured They both each on their own decide to return to the Crystal Palace the next day in hopes of meeting again and finding out if they can repeat what they had shared or if it was just a onetime marvel They were not disappointed at this second meeting – or at the many that followed The storyline itself is excellent I love the suspense the betrayals the grief the scheming and most importantly the deep family ties that see these amazing people through all the heartache they must go through And when all is said and done they are so much stronger for having endured itIn addition to Mark and Passion we have Matthew Mark’s brother as well as Patience and Primrose who are Passion’s sisters and will be featured in their own books And we can’t forget poor cousin Charlotte who is her mother’s pawn through all this and well deserving of her own story All of these characters are warm loving people who I adore Another person I came to care about is John Crossman a young man who had begun to have feelings for Passion but uickly realized even before she did that her heart was bound elsewhere I hope to see him play a prominent role in future books and would be thrilled if he found his own happily ever after in one of themI really can’t stress enough that this book should not be looked at as just another erotic novel where page after page is devoted to words describing sexual acts Though the sexual tension in this book is through the roof amazing and the writing of those scenes is breathtakingly erotic and primitive – it’s so much than that This is a heartwarming story about 2 lonely people who as the walls they have built around their hearts finally begin to crumble find in one another that one other person in the world who can fill their soul’s emptiness and make them whole again The bottom lineIt’s not often that I find a book where I adore both the hero and heroine eually but Passion is one of those rare instances where it all comes together perfectly for me And while as I've said the sensuality of this book is amazing it's Mark and Passion's relationship that has given them a place on my list of all time favorite couples and made this a 5 star read I will come back to this book again and again just to have the chance to spend time with themOne last thing I just read the excerpt for Patience at the end of the book and let me just say you don't want to miss that So when you finish reading Passion keep turning the pages for the excerpt of Patience fanning myselfSexual Content While this book is loaded with sexual situations and very erotic there is no ménage anal sex or BDSMNote Lisa Valdez answered some uestions about why there was such a long time span between Passion and Patience and gave us some information about her 3rd novel in the uartet Primrose

4 45 “tell me something” STARS “Your profile ought to be pressed upon a coin”“Your body ought to be pressed upon mine” This book was exactly what I'd needed A mix of cum and tearsThe first half left me panting and desperate to call my boyfriend and demand he get dressed and come over IMMEDIATELYwhile the second half was so heart wrenching that my pillow was drenched with tears when I read the last sentence of the story “If you want to say no say it now” He shook his head “Not two minutes from now not five minutes from now” With one hand he slowly pulled free the ribbons of her bonnet “NOW OR NOT AT ALL” “Passion” Elizabeth Dare is a dutiful daughter a dedicated sister a respectable widow and a helpful cousin Her dull life with all the unfulfilled dreams and desires turns a sharp corner one day when she gives herself to a stranger with piercing dark blue eyes enveloped by the smell of lemon verbena behind a large screen at an exhibition which is a VERY public place A stranger she has yet to be able to forget All she has left of him now are the delicious soreness between her legs and the handkerchief with the letter “M” monogrammed with dark blue threads that he gave to her when she cried tears of longing and passionPassion needs to see this man again She needs to feel his hands on her body and his words in her ears Butis he even thinking of her? Wishing for her? Longing for herlike she is for him?Randolp “Mark” Hawk Earl of Langley is a very popular man amongst the available women of London He always gets the woman he wants for one night and leaves her without the need to look back Not this time though Awareness of the body and scent of the lady with the softest auburn hair and sweetest smell of vanilla and orange blossoms has overcome Mark in a dizzying rush refusing to abandon his mind Leaving her behind without even learning her name had been a mistake A terrible oneMark needs to see her again He needs to feel her hands on his body and the little noises she makes while she is high on passion in his ears Butis she even thinking of him? Wishing for him? Longing for himlike he is for her? THE BEST THING ABOUT MARK AND PASSION'S STORY The lyricism of the sex scenes Incredible The only heart that beat was the one between her legs Beating so hard so fast – shaking her with violent jolts of wracking pleasure Her eyes rolled back and with a weak keening cry warm wetness gushed out of her in a torrential wash of cum and tears The reason for the 05 stars A sex scene where the cervix of the woman EXPANDS and lets the penis almost get inside the UTERUS “with a little pop sound” Dude That's IMPOSSIBLE Trust me I'm a medical student You guys should have seen my WTF face while reading that particular scene Ridiculous OVERALL Eda totally recommends it

5 stars – HistoricalErotic RomanceThe Good the Bad and the IckyOkay I have to be honest and admit that early on in this I was wondering if I was reading the same book that earned so may five star rave reviews because the explicit language and crude dialogue during the sex scenes although certainly verrry hot made me cringe and snicker at the same time Really it’s sort of how I imagine it would be if Lora Leigh ever decided to write a historical romance I mean don’t get me wrong all my GR friends know that I love my romance on the smutastic side and with dirty talk just as much as the next naughty gal but I guess I just wasn’t expecting such graphic content in a mass paperback historical romance so it initially took me by surpriseThe Bad and the Icky Warning some dirty words smutty intermittent phrases and possible giggles to followCods balls Ick That’s a new one Sounds like a fishPrickDoor of her wombWeeping wombWeeping cockWeeping woman too ‘cause I swear Passion cries constantly in this bookSpunkSac “Look it’s crying to be inside you” “Is your cunt crying too?”“Tell me” “Is your cunt weeping for my cock?” “Yes”“This is what you need” “You need to be fucked” “And fucked” “Yes” Mark loves to use the F word by the way “Take all of me Open for me Open”“That’s it” “Open I have to give you”Why is she expecting a furniture delivery? Nope oh wait that’s just his massive 10 ½ inch cock “Tell me your name” “Why?” “Because” he said uietly “I like to put a name to the women I fuck” Niiiice “Is your cunt clenching hungrily even now?”“Look at me standing here with my prick out – so full of spunk that it’s spilling out on its own” Come was spilling from his prick The knob was dark purple and distended Fuck He crammed it against the slippery mouth of her uim and shoved Mark gasped out loud as he slammed the tender head of his cock against the door of Passion’s womb He could feel sperm still trickling out of him as he thrust again harder Harder His whole shaft throbbed and come kept boiling up from his sac and spilling out of him in a slow constant stream“Passion your cunt is sucking my prick like a hungry little mouth” “It feels like a plea for Is it?” “I have to give you Tell me you want it”“I want all of it I want to be filled with it If I could offer my whole body as a sheath for your cock I would do it” “Open for me Open That’s it Open Let me inside you” “If I wanted I could bury my whole cock in you right now My prick is so bloody hard and I have the strength to do it”“I think I filled you to overflowing When I pull out it’s going to spill”“I’ve got to move Passion I’ve got to fuck”There are a lot of lewd expressions and scenes like these but I think you probably get the pictureThe GoodBut just when I was thinking “WTF? Is everyone crazy? Why is this book so well loved and highly rated?” I started to feel a real connection between Mark and Passion and found myself completely absorbed in the story And after adjusting to the raw somewhat raunchy shocking eroticism I was engrossed in their intense impassioned relationship and moved by their mutual longing and sacrifice It’s a beautiful touching stirring love story that made me cry and totally won me over and that’s why I still gave it a high rating despite the icktastic parts

He had given her a gift a gift she had longed for Rapture instead of restraint Desire instead of disinterest Freedom and fulfillment instead of duty and obligation I was waffling between three and four stars but as sat here writing this review and reading back over my highlights I realized that I liked it enough for four stars despite a few complaints I tend to really love erotic historical romances because they tend to have fairly original plotlines and let's face itthose lascivious sex on the brain men who ultimately fall in love with the object of their obsessionthat's hot````````````````````````What held me back from loving this was a couple of particular points1 It was stuffed FULL of romance tropes and cheesy linesIt's hard to stay away from common themes in this genre so I tend to give it a pass But the cheese factor was a little off the charts Melodrama was not created only recently for the New Adult genre No it's been around awhile2 While the sex was initially pretty hot it uickly became somewhat routine and ermlet's just say extremely implausible A ten and a half inch cockthat's impressive However I'm here to tell you from a medical standpointthat shit isn't going to fit ANYWHERE inside a woman's body I don't care how many pockets of flesh you penetrate Not to mention the fact that so much of the sex was dedicated to Mark's cramming it in there and working his way into herwhat cervix? Nothing goes into the cervix It's hard enough for something to come out````````````````````````All of that being said the rest of the book was marvelous I adore how these two met and yes the sex happens within the first few pages but holy wow was it explosive and titillating They meet at the Crystal Palace inadvertently touch when Mark pulls Passion away from a falling plant and that was the beginning of the end Passion had endured a loveless passionless marriage and when her husband died and left her a widow the only mourning she did was by changing the color of her dress But this one innocent touch instantly lights her up and Mark takes notice I LOVED how he first walks away and then does that epic pause as if arguing with himself before turning back and pursuing what he wants Talk about a turning pointTheir meeting was amazing super sensual intensely passionate The blackmailing incident made me want to rage and although it was an obvious plot device it really did a great job of introducing Mark's brother and giving us a great insight into his childhoodhe is very much the older responsible aristocrat ````````````````````````A few favorite uotes some that won't make sense unless you read the book Let me love you forever Let me love you until we are frail and old And then let me love you in heaven For my love for you shall never cease I think my cock is in love with you Some men lose their desire for their wives the moment they step out of church he said softly It has nothing to do with the wife; it's merely that a wife is too available too permitted Their zeal is for all the women they can't have Tell me something epic swoon I would love a cup of hot chocolate

5 StarsTo me Passion felt like two completely different booksFor the first 10o pages or so I found myself caught up in the incredibly vivid and passionate secret love affair between Passion Dare the heroine's name is beyond silly but I got used to it and the intense Mark Randolph Hawk Literally from the first sentence of this novel the sexual chemistry and heat generated by these two characters is enough to render a person speechless Okay it rendered me speechless at least There is a lot of sex in this book especially early on And as it has been brought up by nearly everyone writing a review for this book the sex scenes are incredibly vivid and detailed and they along with the language may bother some readers This is most definitely an historical erotica novel with a BIG emphasis on the erotica partAnd while I was thoroughly enjoying the passion and naughtiness of this story something happened round about 200 pages in This book became less about blistering sex scenes and much about the intense bone deep love that the two characters felt for each other The last third of this book broke my heart and literally reduced me to a weepy mess Now that I have read Passion I see why it means so much to so many people If you take the time to look past the vivid sensuality of the early parts of this book you will find one of the most beautiful and deeply moving love stories I have ever read I hope people will open themselves up to this reading experience because I'm so glad I did and this will definitely be a story I will never forget reviews at my blog

Well I guess historical erotica really isn't for me This was HOT really hot but also really really crude the language and everything I have no problem with that in contemporaries but while reading this it just sounded WRONG But this is my brain's problem For all erotica lovers even those who are not into historicals you will love this one for sure

Well I don't even know what to say about this book I spent all night thinking about what my review would be I tossed and turned How odd is that? I gave it 3 stars but I could have given it 1 or I could have given it 5 I just don't know how to rate a book that had parts that I really disliked and parts that I really liked I guess a 3 star rating is fair for a book that brought out such emotions on both sides of the spectrumThe best way I know how to do this is list out all my likes and dislikes Maybe that will give a hint of the plot enough for someone who wants to know if they should read it?Likes1 Valdez has a beautiful way with words She can write the hell out of a sex scene So descriptive2 The emotions this books brings forth I felt their pain I was very angry for Mark and the sacrifice he was making I hated his mom and Abigail I felt for Charlotte who turned out to be a great character And Passion her way of seizing what she wanted if only for a short time was admirable3 Very good plot Sometimes I wanted to brush away the sex just to get back to the plot That is kind of rare for me4 Patience Primrose and Matt What interesting stories they will haveDislikes 1 The word uim Negative Ghostrider Make it stop2 All the crying I don't think I have even cried that much in my life And for Mark to cry so much kind of bugged me Put on your big boy briefs buddy Suck it up3 The use of exclamation points When I read a sentence with an exclamation point it sounds very dramatic in my head This story had a ton of them So there was always overacting and extra emotion It seemed a tad overdone4 The epilogue Come on folks I have nursed 2 kids for a decent amount of time and NEVER EVER did I consider doing THAT during the actual nursing of my kid Gross and ew No thank you Two compeletely separate acts in my head Total turnoff

He bent his blue gaze upon her Your body ought to be pressed upon minePassion's mouth went dry Her insidwent liuid Excuse me she whispered backing awayNo he said casually I do not excuse youOH SHITafter the first 10 pages of this book I wasNOT EXPECTING THATI LOVED this the cheese the smut the plot even the bad smut that made me cringe lolSo here's my take on the bookIt was not exceptionally good the plot was mediocre and formulaic The sex scenes were a little weird eg 10 12 inch penis yeah did not need that in my life lmao But what I loved was Passion and Mark's romance with one another I honestly hated that I loved Mark because there was not much to love about him Alas not even his 105 inch penis He was dark and rude and blunt his sex kind of scary rather than hot but I loved it I don't know why lol I think something is wrong with me He was not a romantic He was crude and impatient and everything I don't look for in a man but I loved him because I'm trash and a horny horndogNow Passion was a really wonderful character She was so nice I love nice people and she was just so kind I just wanted to be her friend and we could both just have conversations about how horny we are for men like Mark I loved that she was unapologetic in her ehhem biblical needs? I must say this sex was a new experience for me The errr 105 inch peepee had meAnd I really think this author needs a female reproduction 101 because well He could still feel the tight nub of her cervix but now it was below rubbing the thick distended passage that brought his spunk The pulsing head of his cock was in a deep pocket of flesh above her wombI was not aware I had a secret pocket inside my vagina where my cervix??? Could receive the ultimate pleasure from penis??? It got to the point where I was confused because I was like is the cervix I'm thinking of the same cervix she's thinking of?? Because I don't think her cervix is existent lmao PLEASE DO YOUR HUMAN SEXUAL ANATOMY RESEARCH BEFORE YOU WRITE AN EROTICA ABOUT ITOk now back to the plotThe reason I gave this 5 stars was because I left this book with a smile on my face Their romance and love for each other was never in uestion Mark had issues rightfully so and I totally understood his character given the circumstances Honestly even though it was cheesy it was the good kind of cheese The beautiful kind of cheeseMy kind of cheese Once long ago I begged for love I swore I would never do it again But I'm begging you now Passion Please love me Her hands slipped through his hair and he pressed his face against her Please For I love you I love you with all that I am and all that I will ever be I love you in this life and the next I love you I love youSigh So sweet So passionateEyy follow my reviews if you liked this one Please friend me too I love making friends
